Special Education Teacher - Chicago, Illinois

The classroom comes equipped with a dedicated program aide and additional 1:1 support staff as needed, ensuring a positive, engaging, and accessible learning environment for every student.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure required
- Experience with cross-categorical or multi-needs programs preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet a range of learning needs
- Effective collaboration with aides, related service providers, and families
- Excellent organization, communication, and classroom management skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction aligned to IEPs and grade standards
- Implement structured teaching, visual, communication, and sensory supports
- Monitor student progress and update data to drive instructional decisions
- Foster positive classroom management and social-emotional interventions
- Collaborate daily with program aides, therapists, and team members
