A Special Education teaching position is open for a compassionate educator with experience in developmental and behavioral support for children aged 3-5. This role is full-time, spanning from now through May 21, 2027, and is based in a dynamic Pre-K program.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Special and General Education for Pre-K age groups
- Prior experience working with young children exhibiting a range of needs, especially those who are non-verbal or minimally verbal
- Familiarity with developmental milestones, including toilet training/diapering and assisted feeding
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside school teams and families
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and interventions to preschool children in the Special Education program
- Implement and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist students with daily living skills, including toileting and feeding, as needed
- Support social and language development, adapting strategies for non-verbal communication
- Partner with other educators and therapists to ensure comprehensive care for each student
- Foster a positive environment that celebrates each child’s unique progress
