Special Education Teacher | Cicero, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students at the intermediate resource level near Cicero, IL, as a Special Education Teacher for 4th and 5th grades. This full-time role spans 35 hours per week, from August 14 through the end of September, with potential for extension based on needs. You’ll be working with a small group of 8–10 students, providing both push-in and pull-out instructional support for ELA and Math.
Work alongside dedicated staff from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, ensuring that each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are met through tailored instruction and progress monitoring. This assignment covers an FMLA leave and offers the opportunity to make a positive impact at a pivotal point in the school year.
Ideal Experience and Credentials:
- Valid and current LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) Endorsement
- Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by Illinois State Board of Education
- Experience working in special education classrooms, preferably with 4th and 5th graders
- Ability to implement IEPs and modifications for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills to track student progress and create effective interventions
