With the assistance of a dedicated program aide and 1:1 support staff as specified in IEPs, you’ll foster both academic and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (as required for the state)
- Experience with cross-categorical special education at the middle school level preferred
- Knowledgeable in IEP development and implementation
- Skilled in using structured teaching methods, visual and sensory supports, and behavioral interventions
- Collaborative mindset for working with aides, related service providers, and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction that adheres to grade-level standards and student IEPs
- Implement visual supports, sensory strategies, and social-emotional interventions
- Work with aides and additional support staff to address individual student needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and service providers
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes student independence
- Engage in ongoing communication with families regarding student progress
