Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

Step into a meaningful contract role supporting K-12 learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 26/27 school year. Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs, curriculum adaptations, and behavioral interventions
- Confident managing caseloads encompassing a range of ages and ability levels
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom culture
- Skilled in collaborating with general educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Strong communication and organization skills
- District fingerprinting and security clearance required prior to start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the unique academic and behavioral needs of students with disabilities
- Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in line with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Collect and analyze student performance data; adjust instructional strategies proactively
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress and success
- Provide direct support, guidance, and training for support personnel (paraprofessionals, assistants)
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Engage in professional development and ongoing program evaluation
