Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (State-specific).
- Background working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Experience in case management or a willingness to learn strongly valued.
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Solid interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- Capacity to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Facilitate inclusive instruction tailored to each learner’s unique strengths and challenges.
- Coordinate and lead meetings with interdisciplinary teams and families.
- Document and maintain accurate educational records and case notes.
- Manage and support student behaviors using evidence-based strategies.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families.
- For the case management role: Oversee student plans, coordinate services, and ensure compliance.
