This assignment features two exciting opportunities:
- Long-term role through late May at an elementary social communications classroom.
- A 6-week maternity leave opening this fall, also in a social communications setting.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license/certification.
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with Autism (AU)—especially non-verbal or limited speech.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviors and implement effective communication strategies.
- Flexibility to adapt to short- and long-term assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students (elementary level) in social communications classrooms.
- Collaborate with 2 paraprofessionals in a classroom of 6 students.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement targeted interventions.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with families and school teams to support student progress.
