Details of the Roles:
- ASAP start through May 28th for one position
- Full academic year position at an elementary level (8am-4pm)
- Small classroom setting with up to 6 students, supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals
- Students primarily non-verbal or limited in speech; supportive environment for addressing behavioral needs
- Additional six-week maternity leave coverage starting September, serving a similar classroom population
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid licensure as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist
- Experience with social communications classrooms and Autism Spectrum Disorder (AU) preferred
- Ability to support students with behavioral needs, non-verbal communication, and differentiated instruction
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support student learning and behavior management
- Foster communication, social, and adaptive skills through structured routines
- Maintain accurate documentation and regularly track progress towards IEP goals
- Communicate routinely with families and multidisciplinary team members
