Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract Special Education Teacher in a dedicated social communications classroom. This position is based in a vibrant learning environment near Loveland, OH, and presents multiple openings for passionate Intervention Specialists.
We are seeking:
- One professional for a full-year assignment at an elementary setting, working alongside two paraprofessionals from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, supporting a small group of six students—all have Autism (AU) eligibility, most are non-verbal or have limited speech, and some present with behavioral needs.
- An additional opening for a maternity leave replacement beginning in September, lasting six weeks, also in a social communications classroom.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license in the state (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with elementary-aged students preferred
- Background working with non-verbal or minimally verbal students, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Strong knowledge of behavior management strategies and individualized instructional methods
- Collaborative and flexible attitude—ready to work closely with paraprofessionals and educational staff
Responsibilites:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Foster a supportive, communicative, and positive classroom culture
- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and other interventions
- Document progress, adapt lessons, and partner with caregivers and colleagues
- Model patience, empathy, and encouragement to help every student thrive
