Special Education Teacher | Colonial Beach, Virginia

Work onsite and enjoy a consistent schedule, with hours from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, totaling approximately 36 hours each week. You'll be working within the general education setting with a manageable caseload of around 16 high school students for the upcoming academic year.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Previous experience working with high school students, especially in inclusive/general education settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Dedicated to fostering student growth and empowerment
Core Responsibilities:
- Support high school students placed in general education classrooms, adapting instruction to suit varied needs
- Partner with classroom teachers to promote inclusion and academic achievement
- Develop, review, and implement effective IEPs
- Track student progress, documenting data and modifying strategies as necessary
- Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and staff
- Engage in ongoing professional development and school activities
