Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in Life Skills (RISE) classrooms for the remainder of the school year. Multiple contract positions are available, serving both K-5th and 6-12th grade levels. Located near Converse, TX, you’ll operate in a collaborative environment that values expertise and compassion for learners with significant support needs. Positions run from ASAP through May 25, with a schedule of 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
What You’ll Need:
- Active Special Education and core content area certification
- Experience or enthusiasm for teaching students with significant support needs
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and life skills instruction
- Ability to create an inclusive, structured, and nurturing classroom
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering progress and independence for every student
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to small groups, adapting curriculum to individual learning needs
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families
- Deliver core academic content in a modified, engaging manner
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, colleagues, and caregivers
- Maintain accurate progress records and contribute to a supportive school community
- Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings
