You’ll collaborate with educators and leadership alike, positioned at a single campus near I-10 and Blalock, ensuring stability and familiarity for both you and your students. With the school calendar in mind, you’ll enjoy the consistency of 37.5 hours per week through May 27, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Texas EC-12 Special Education teaching certification
- Proven experience or strong interest in life skills and self-contained SPED settings
- Familiarity with instructional strategies for students with intellectual disabilities
- Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, and creative problem-solving
- Comfort with collaborating closely with teacher assistants and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with district and state special education requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored for each student’s individual learning needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with assistants to provide targeted instruction and support
- Monitor progress, complete required documentation, and communicate clearly with parents and staff
- Uphold all safety standards, including district fingerprinting, background checks, and drug screening
