Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education EC-12 teaching certification for the state of Texas
- Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly within self-contained or Life Skills classrooms is highly valued
- Familiarity with individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teacher assistants, families, and support staff
- Successful completion of required background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic approach to supporting diverse learners with compassion and structure
Responsibilities:
- Provide differentiated instruction and life skills development to a classroom of approximately 10 elementary students
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teacher assistants to ensure an organized, safe, and encouraging learning environment
- Partner with parents and related service providers to support student progress
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with district and school policies
- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
