Special Education Teacher | Denton, Maryland

You’ll work with a vibrant 4th-grade caseload of 15 students in a collaborative Resource/Co-Teaching environment. Each day brings variety and purpose—supporting exceptional learners as they reach new academic and personal milestones in an inclusive school setting.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Teacher license required
- Previous experience with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong collaboration skills for co-teaching and team settings
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs to meet diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction and supports for a resource/co-teaching 4th-grade classroom
- Partner with general education teachers and school staff to deliver differentiated lessons
- Write and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Assess and document student progress, tailoring approaches as needed
- Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies to inspire student growth and independence
