Special Education Teacher in Des Plaines, IL

Qualifications:
- Illinois Assistive Technology Teaching credentials/certification (IL AT Creds) required
- Background in special education, especially experience as a Special Education Teacher
- In-depth knowledge of assistive technology tools and best practices
- Passion for promoting inclusive learning environments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate assistive technology solutions for K-12 students
- Provide ongoing training and support to students, teachers, and families
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and classroom technologies to meet IEP goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including the Early Childhood Assessment Team, to design individualized interventions
- Monitor and document student progress, updating plans as necessary
- Work across multiple locations, serving a caseload of students with diverse needs
