Special Education Teacher | Elgin, Illinois

Desired Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Assistive Technology credentials (IL AT Creds) required
- Background in special education teaching with practical knowledge of assistive technology solutions
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultative services supporting K-12 students’ access to curriculum through assistive technology
- Complete assessments and develop action plans for technology integration based on student needs
- Collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and outside providers to monitor student progress
- Participate in early childhood assessment teams and support multiple elementary school sites as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely reporting per school and district guidelines
- Provide training and support to staff on effective use of assistive technology tools
This full-time contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, working with diverse students and a dedicated team of professionals.
