Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) and active teaching license required
- Certification and experience in Special Education preferred
- Background working with middle schoolers and managing resource classrooms
- Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs
- Effective communicator and collaborator, comfortable working closely with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Committed to building supportive learning environments and fostering student growth
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and classroom support to 6th grade students with a range of learning needs
- Adapt curriculum and lessons to meet individual IEP goals
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom climate
- Participate in meetings, collaborate with parents and specialists, and contribute to the success of the special education team
- Maintain accurate records and meet all documentation requirements
