This contract opportunity spans the 2026/2027 school year, beginning as soon as possible and concluding May 27, 2027. The role is based in a dedicated educational environment focused on autistic support, with ample classroom assistance from Personal Care Assistants (PCAs).
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certificate (required)
- Experience working in special education, specifically with students on the autism spectrum (preferred)
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
- Strong communication abilities for interaction with students, families, and staff
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver specialized instruction in line with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with PCAs and instructional staff to implement effective support strategies
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet unique student needs
- Track and document student progress, providing regular updates to families and school teams
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to program planning
- Maintain a structured classroom environment focused on skill development and positive behavior
- Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the school day
