Your role will involve working within onsite classrooms in the Franklin Learning Center, focusing on students who benefit from individualized approaches and robust support. You’ll have the assistance of Personal Care Assistants (PCA) throughout each day, ensuring effective learning and personal growth for every student.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate required
- Background in special education with direct experience teaching students on the autism spectrum preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
- Deep commitment to fostering inclusive, positive learning environments
- Ability to adapt to student needs and work closely with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specially designed instruction for students in Autistic Support classrooms
- Foster an engaging, structured, and nurturing classroom setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with PCAs and other staff members to support student achievement
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and communicate with families, staff, and other involved parties
- Promote social, emotional, and academic success for each student
