Make a real impact supporting K-6 students in a calm, collaborative school environment. This contract position is ideal for a Special Education Teacher seeking to work with a small caseload, focusing on students with cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, or autism in self-contained, multi-disability classrooms. The assignment runs from August 25, 2026, to June 11, 2027, offering 35 hours per week (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary teacher for 7-8 students in setting 2 & 3 classrooms, delivering individualized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP
- Develop and adapt curriculum for varying learning needs, ensuring access to meaningful educational opportunities
- Collaborate with support staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to create a structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and participate in IEP meetings with families and school teams
- Employ effective classroom management and provide differentiated instruction within a self-contained setting
Qualifications:
- Current Special Education licensure in Tier 3 or 4 in the state of Minnesota
- Experience teaching in self-contained settings and working with students who have cognitive, learning disabilities, or autism
- Strong organization and communication skills for collaborating and documenting educational plans
- Positive, student-centered approach and a commitment to fostering student growth

- W2 hourly contract with competitive hourly pay ($33-38, depending on experience)
