Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience teaching or assisting in K-3rd grade classrooms preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Adaptable and creative approach to individualized instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and tailored educational supports to elementary students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages all students to achieve their potential
- Employ proven and innovative strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Track student progress, maintaining detailed records in accordance with school and state requirements
- Participate in regular meetings with staff and families to discuss and revise student goals and progress
