Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential in Special Education
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher (SDC or RSP preferred)
- Thorough understanding of IEP creation, implementation, and compliance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with general education staff, parents, and support teams
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans for students with a range of abilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Case manage IEPs, holding meetings and collaborating with families and staff to ensure student growth
- Employ evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to program needs (SDC or RSP)
- Foster an encouraging classroom culture that supports positive behavior and academic achievement
- Support the integration of students into general education settings as appropriate
