Key Qualifications:
- Active California credential for Moderate/Severe Special Education (required)
- Proven experience working with students with extensive support needs or similar populations
- Strong collaboration skills—able to communicate and work effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Effective classroom management, IEP development, and differentiated instruction expertise
- Ability to use data and assessment to guide instruction and document progress
- A passion and commitment to student growth and advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with moderate/severe disabilities in accordance with each IEP
- Develop and implement engaging, data-driven lesson plans that accommodate varying abilities
- Lead IEP meetings, collaborate on goal-setting, and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Foster a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages achievement and respect
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other team members to support each learner’s unique needs
- Maintain timely documentation and ongoing communication with families regarding progress and supports
