Key Qualifications:
- Active California credential in Moderate/Severe Special Education is required
- Experience teaching or supporting students with moderate/severe disabilities highly preferred
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods for diverse learners
- Commitment to collaboration with support staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Effective communication and advocacy for students’ needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in a self-contained setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general educators, speech therapists, and other team members
- Modify curriculum and assessments to meet each learner’s unique goals
- Provide a positive, safe, and supportive environment that fosters student growth
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and relevant trainings
