This contract position focuses on teaching an elementary SCSB (Autism) class, where you will foster growth, engagement, and learning for a dynamic group of young learners. Begin as soon as possible and continue through the end of the school year, wrapping up on 6/9/27.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Possession of a valid credential for extensive support needs (Special Education Teacher).
- Demonstrated experience or enthusiasm for working with elementary students, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive, structured environment.
- Collaborative spirit for working with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families.
- Adaptability and creativity in implementing individualized education and behavioral strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support an evolving classroom (currently 11 elementary students; enrollment can change).
- Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on student goals and progress.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver instruction tailored to students’ academic, behavioral, and communication needs.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports both students and their families.
- Collaborate and consult with school teams to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and provide regular updates to parents and teams.
