Special Education Teacher | San Marcos, California
Take your expertise in special education to a dynamic elementary school environment, making a meaningful impact on students with extensive support needs. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year, providing a stable and rewarding assignment in an elementary SCSB (Autism) classroom. Collaborate alongside dedicated education professionals as you nurture growth and achievement in a classroom designed for students requiring additional support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credential with authorization for extensive support needs
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in an autism-focused classroom or similar environment
- Proactive, compassionate approach to individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to adapting instruction to meet diverse learning styles and support needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and nurture a classroom of approximately 11 students (numbers may vary), focusing on academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that meet each student’s goals and IEP requirements
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment that encourages participation and independence
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation required by the school and district
- Collaborate regularly with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to ensure a cohesive support network
You’ll be working five days per week, becoming an integral presence in students’ daily routines and educational journeys. The classroom is structured and well-resourced to maximize student engagement and success.
