Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a full-time, on-site role. This contract position is open to travel professionals and is set in the vibrant Jacksonville, FL area for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work closely with students in a 1:1 setting, fostering their growth and success through individualized support and collaboration with a committed educational team.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education Teaching certification (required to be considered for this role)
- Experience working in a school setting supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a one-on-one environment and tailor instruction to each student’s needs
- Enthusiasm for fostering inclusive and positive classroom experiences
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction to assigned students, adapting lesson plans to meet specific learning and behavioral goals
- Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families to develop and implement IEPs
- Track and document student progress, updating educational strategies as needed
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through positive reinforcement and encouragement
- Maintain an engaging, safe, and supportive classroom environment
