Special Education Teacher in Gurnee, IL

Classroom hours are structured—intermediate grades run from 9:05 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., while early childhood programs offer morning and afternoon sessions, as well as full day kindergarten.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience or strong interest in working with cross-categorical, self-contained, life skills, or early childhood populations
- Ability to develop and deliver creative, individualized instruction
- Strong collaboration, team communication, and progress monitoring skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and targeted interventions in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and materials for diverse learning needs
- Work collaboratively with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and parents
- Collect data and monitor student growth, providing ongoing updates and participating in IEP meetings
- Establish engaging, well-managed classrooms that encourage student participation
