Key Qualifications:
- Active Kentucky Special Education certification with Moderate/Severe Disabilities (MSD) credentials
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and track progress
- Strong communication skills and approachable demeanor with students, families, and colleagues
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving in a dynamic classroom environment
- Compliance with all state and federal education regulations for special education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of 7 elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized curriculum and lesson plans based on student abilities and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to ensure student support
- Monitor, document, and report on student goals and progress toward IEP benchmarks
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and confidence
