This full-time opportunity is based at an elementary school and involves working with students in grades K-5 who require specialized instruction and support. Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with dual certification in Special Education (must be attached as a PDF when applying)
- Previous experience teaching special education within elementary settings (grades K-5 preferred)
- Strong ability to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service staff
- Expertise in developing, implementing, and tracking Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to providing inclusive and equitable educational experiences
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and create differentiated lesson plans for special education resource students in grades K-5
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress according to IEP goals
- Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, annual reviews, and team planning sessions
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding special education
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom environment
