The role is focused on nurturing a classroom of 25-30 students in Life Skills, Social Skills, and English Language Arts. Your day will run from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, providing consistency while allowing evenings free.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education and Generalist/Core endorsements
- Experience participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings; ability to contribute effectively
- Strong communication skills to foster collaboration with families and educational staff
- Ability to encourage student growth in academics and life skills
- Commitment to upholding the dress code, supporting a sense of equality and professionalism (natural hair colors, minimal earrings, professional attire, and no visible tattoos)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans in Life Skills, Social Skills, and English Language Arts
- Support students’ progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse needs
- Participate actively in ARD meetings, collaborating on IEP goals and reporting student progress
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment, promoting student confidence and independence
- Engage in open communication with families and team members to ensure student success
- Maintain compliance with school policies and expectations
