Special Education Teacher - Lakeville, Minnesota
Empower diverse learners and make an impact with seven contract positions available for experienced Special Education Teachers. These roles, based onsite, support middle and elementary school students across a variety of specialized settings for the 2026-2027 school year.
Your expertise in behavior strategies and instructional best practices will be invaluable in resource and center-based classrooms. Openings span grades and specialized programs—ranging from ASD to DCD—with opportunities to cover FMLA leave as well as support cross-categorical students whose primary needs involve emotional or behavioral challenges.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in any of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS license is an option, not a requirement)
- Demonstrated skills in designing and implementing behavior plans
- Solid understanding of classroom routines, structures, and effective problem-solving
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Strong collaboration with both special education and general education colleagues
- Experience communicating and scheduling with paraprofessionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and develop individualized education plans for students in resource and center-based programs
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to student needs
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Collaborate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing professional development
- Provide continuity of instruction, including temporary FMLA coverage
