Step into an impactful role supporting the diverse educational needs of students as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained ESE classroom. This contract opportunity is based on-site at a single elementary-focused campus in the northwest area of Jacksonville, FL, beginning as soon as possible and running through late May 2027. You’ll work with a range of learning levels and exceptionalities, ensuring each student receives tailored instruction and care.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Florida ESE certification is required, in addition to K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification.
- Previous classroom experience in a self-contained Special Education setting.
- Willingness to work on-site (remote/VOCO not available).
- Ability to successfully complete state and district credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance through the AHCA Clearinghouse (guidance provided if previously printed).
- Preparedness for an internal eligibility interview and a virtual prescreen interview to assess fit for the position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction in a self-contained ESE classroom, facilitating the academic, social, and functional development of students with a variety of learning needs.
- Implement IEPs and adapt curriculum as needed.
- Collaborate with support staff, families, and the broader school team to foster student growth.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district documentation requirements.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
