Elementary Special Education Teacher - Richmond, Virginia

Desired Qualifications:
- Active Special Education (SPED) teaching license in Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting students with developmental delays and autism, particularly at the elementary level.
- Understanding of IEP development, differentiation, and behavior management strategies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working alongside paraprofessionals and other educational staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for K-2 students in a self-contained, multicategorical setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to provide differentiated and targeted support.
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Partner with families and related service providers to deliver holistic support.
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction as needed to promote growth.
This contract position runs through the end of May 2025, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week. Compensation for this opportunity ranges from $30 to $40 per hour, with weekly pay to keep things convenient.
