Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher / Case Manager to join a school-based team in Crystal, Minnesota. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide individualized instruction and comprehensive case management support to students in grades 1–8.
The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students reach their academic, behavioral, and developmental goals while collaborating with school staff, families, and service providers.
Responsibilities
Provide direct, specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
Serve as case manager for an assigned caseload of approximately 5–8 students.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Oversee due process requirements and ensure compliance with applicable special education regulations.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and supports as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, families, and other members of the educational team.
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and other student support meetings.
Maintain accurate student records and required documentation.
Support students with a variety of learning, behavioral, developmental, and other educational needs.
Student Population
The caseload may include students in grades 1–8 with a variety of needs, including:
Other Health Disabilities (OHD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
Developmental Disabilities (DD)
Qualifications
Current Minnesota teaching licensure through PELSB required.
Special education teaching experience preferred.
Experience with IEP development, case management, and due process preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
