This contract opportunity places you in a supportive, collaborative environment working directly with a small group of six children with significant needs, including an emphasis on students with autism. Located on-site, this role is ideal for travel professionals passionate about early childhood special education.
Your certification as an educator and experience with toileting support are essential as you help foster growth and development for children with unique learning differences. Collaborate closely with colleagues and families to ensure each student achieves their individual goals.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid educator certification for special education (Pre-K level required)
- Previous experience supporting students with autism is highly preferred
- Competency and comfort assisting with toileting routines
- Ability to provide patient, compassionate, developmentally appropriate instruction
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and school team
- Willingness to work exclusively on-site
- Experience as a travel teacher or interest in relocating for assignment encouraged
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to a class of six Pre-K students
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with attention to each student’s needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
- Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Assist with daily living skills, including toileting, as needed
- Track and report student progress toward defined outcomes
