You’ll work closely with a dedicated team, including two experienced paraprofessionals, to provide individualized instruction and behavioral support for a small caseload of five students. This position emphasizes a positive, collaborative approach within a supportive setting where professional growth is valued.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required
- Previous experience in a special education setting preferred
- Comfortable assisting with toileting and managing behavioral needs
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
- Passion for developing and implementing individualized student plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support daily classroom activities
- Develop and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Partner with families and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages learning and growth
- Support and calmly redirect students displaying challenging behaviors
