Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification recognized by Illinois
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to provide individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt lesson plans to meet students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s abilities
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers
- Track and report student progress toward IEP goals, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports academic and social-emotional growth
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
