Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience teaching in elementary or middle school settings (resource or self-contained)
- Knowledgeable in IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Skilled in differentiated instruction and behavior management
- Ability to adapt curriculum and assessments to student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
- Organized, empathetic, and responsive to students with a range of exceptional learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to students with identified disabilities
- Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Serve as a resource for general education teachers regarding adaptations and accommodations
- Track and assess student progress, maintaining all necessary documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Collaborate with support staff, administrators, and families to foster student success
