Special Education Teacher - Washington, DC
Exciting opportunities await an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to support students and make meaningful connections in an engaging middle school setting near Washington, DC. We are seeking dynamic educators for immediate contract positions—three openings in total—within both elementary and middle school environments. Interview scheduling is currently focused on a middle school need.
This contract position is designed for educators passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential through individualized support. Roles include elementary resource, middle school resource, and middle school self-contained classrooms.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Record of success with elementary and/or middle school-aged students
- Familiarity with inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and adapting to varying needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum to meet each student’s unique abilities
- Collaborate closely with general education and support staff
- Foster a safe, motivational, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Track and communicate student progress to families and administrators
- Engage in professional development as needed
