Your role will focus on ensuring that every student receives the support and instruction necessary for academic success. By blending your expertise in special education with math instruction, you'll help create an engaging and accessible learning experience for all students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching math at the elementary or middle school levels
- Background in co-teaching or working within inclusion classrooms strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with educators, support staff, and families
- Dedication to differentiated instruction and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to deliver high-quality math instruction to 5th and 6th grade inclusion classrooms
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans accommodating various learning needs and styles
- Assist in planning, assessing, and modifying instruction to ensure the success of students with diverse abilities
- Provide direct support to students, both individually and in small groups
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues
- Document student progress, maintain IEP compliance, and participate in team and IEP meetings as needed
