Special Education Teacher - Newark, NJ

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification (required)
- Background (student teaching or teaching roles) working with special education students
- Experience supporting students with a broad range of learning differences
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Flexibility and creative problem-solving abilities
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply; mentorship and support provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to align with each student’s IEP goals within a Grade 8 curriculum
- Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver instruction in an inclusive classroom setting
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing documentation and feedback as needed
- Facilitate a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom community
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams
