Experienced special education professionals have an opportunity to make a significant impact supporting students in elementary and middle school grades. This contract position offers a dynamic environment serving K-6th grade students in floating classrooms, providing both emotional support and learning support services.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in K-12 Special Education is strongly preferred.
- Emergency-certified educators with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience may be considered if enrolled in a teacher preparation program or preparing for the Praxis exam and full certification.
- Demonstrated expertise in case management and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is essential.
- Experience working with students requiring both emotional and academic support in K-6 settings.
- Ability to adapt to varied classroom situations and support diverse learning needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver special education services to a caseload of K-6th grade students, rotating as needed across settings.
- Provide emotional and learning support in accordance with each student’s IEP.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and school teams to maximize student engagement and success.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and resilience.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely compliance with all IEP-related requirements.
