Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in special education (or eligibility for licensure)
- Proven experience working with students with severe disabilities
- Familiarity with specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for individualized needs
- Comfort and compassion with providing toileting support
- Ability to collaborate with classroom staff, including Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Energy, patience, and dedication to supporting diverse learners
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Implement and document specially designed interventions and behavioral strategies
- Collaborate closely with support staff (including RBTs), service providers, and families
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Support students with daily routines, including personal care and communication needs
- Track progress and participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students’ strengths and areas for growth
