Full-time, contract positions are open for educators skilled in serving students within Substantially Separate Classrooms at both the K-1 and 3rd–5th grade levels. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that embraces collaboration and provides meaningful support to students with severe cognitive and physical disabilities, including those who are non-verbal or on the spectrum. Some classrooms are supported by Registered Behavior Technicians.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience supporting students with severe disabilities
- Familiarity with toileting assistance and physical support
- Knowledge of and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Experience designing and delivering specially designed instruction
- Ability to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Comfort working with students requiring non-verbal communication and behavioral support
- Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized instructional plans
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Work closely with additional professionals, such as RBTs, to meet each student’s unique needs
- Provide thoughtful and respectful toileting support as needed
- Utilize ABA strategies to enhance instruction and manage behaviors
- Track and report on student progress and participation
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
