Special Education Teacher in Williamstown, MA

A full-time contract opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to work in substantially separate K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade classrooms. These positions are focused on serving students who require intensive support, including those who may be non-verbal, on the autism spectrum, or need assistance with daily living skills such as toileting. Some classrooms will have additional Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) support, creating a collaborative environment for staff and students.
Preferred candidates will bring experience in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis, contributing to a supportive and structured learning environment. This is an onsite position, and travel professionals are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education certification (or eligibility)
- Experience working with students with severe/profound disabilities and intensive support needs
- Background in applied behavior analysis and designing individualized instruction
- Comfortable providing toileting assistance and supporting the daily needs of students
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RBTs, therapists, and school staff
- Strong communication skills, including with non-verbal students using various modalities
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver targeted, individualized instruction in a substantially separate classroom
- Adapt curriculum and classroom activities for students with severe disabilities
- Implement behavior plans in cooperation with support staff and RBTs
- Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance with IEPs
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
- Support students' independence and daily living skills
