This first-semester assignment in a middle school resource setting will introduce you to fresh approaches to individualized education, diverse classroom strategies, and leadership styles. Each day, you'll build your professional skills and enhance your resume by working with colleagues and learners who bring different backgrounds and perspectives.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and appropriate teaching license required
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a school environment
- Ability to support 6th-grade students in a resource classroom
- Adaptability for onsite teaching and collaboration
- Strong communication and organization skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource instruction to 6th-grade students from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 32.5 hours per week
- Collaborate closely with school staff and student support teams
- Implement and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all students
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
