Special Education Teacher in Oregon City, OR
An exciting contract position is available for a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in the lives of young students. Collaborate with a welcoming educational team and provide individualized instruction to learners with diverse developmental and learning needs in an early childhood or elementary school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon special education teaching license/certification with early childhood endorsement or eligibility for it
- Experience in early childhood special education required
- Familiarity with the needs of students with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- In-depth understanding of IEPs and delivering individualized instruction
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach with staff and families
- A strong passion for empowering young learners to achieve their greatest potential
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students based on their individual IEPs
- Address academic, developmental, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional needs
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging learning activities
- Regularly monitor and document progress for each student
- Work in close partnership with related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and fellow educators
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and ongoing progress review sessions
- Maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and safety
Position Details:
- Full-time contract, Monday–Friday schedule
- Start date is as soon as possible
- Assignment extends through the end of the school year
