Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
- Prior experience working with elementary students in a special education setting
- Strong instructional abilities to adapt curriculum to various learning needs
- Ability to collaborate with assistants and other professionals to create an optimal educational environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
- Dedication to fostering social-emotional growth and academic achievement
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
- Provide differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning abilities
- Collaborate with a team of teacher assistants to deliver cohesive and consistent classroom management
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student confidence
- Employ ongoing assessment strategies to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration to ensure alignment on student goals
