Special Education Teacher - Cicero, IL

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Previous experience working in a special education setting, preferably at the upper elementary level
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with assistants, families, and colleagues
- Ability to promote a safe, inclusive, and adaptive learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to IEP goals for 4th and 5th graders
- Lead a classroom community with the support of four teacher assistants, ensuring all students’ needs are met
- Implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates to families and school teams as appropriate
- Encourage social and academic growth through positive reinforcement and relationship building
