Special Education Teacher in Oak Park, IL

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably within special education settings.
- Strong commitment to individualized instruction, social-emotional learning, and classroom management.
- Ability to collaborate with teacher assistants, related service providers, and families.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, adapt, and deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive classroom environment tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Partner closely with teacher assistants to implement instructional strategies and behavioral interventions.
- Collaborate with families and multi-disciplinary teams to monitor progress and communicate student growth.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as necessary.
