Special Education Teacher - Aurora, IL

Ideal Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Extensive experience working with students with ASD
- Proven ability to support students using AAC devices
- Successful track record in either K-2 or high school special education settings
- Collaborative, positive attitude and commitment to inclusive education
- Strong communication skills for engaging students and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and individualized support for a diverse caseload (maximum 10 students)
- Adapt curriculum and interventions for students’ unique learning and communication needs
- Integrate AAC technology into classroom routines for effective communication
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrative staff
- Monitor progress and maintain thorough, accurate documentation
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment for every student
